Lin’s son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren live in Appleton and it’s such a charming place, especially in the winter because I really love snow!! Plus it’s so close to Door County . Door County is on a peninsula between Green Bay and Lake Michigan, in the state of Wisconsin. It’s known for its long shoreline and many parks. Peninsula State Park on Green Bay is home to sheltered Nicolet Beach, with its calm waters. On Lake Michigan, Newport State Park is a wilderness park crisscrossed with trails. Potawatomi State Park, in Sturgeon Bay, is fringed by limestone cliffs. Door County may conjure up spring cherry blossoms, grazing dairy herds, and myriad tourists. However, winter has its own special memorable charm.

Fall is in full swing here in Tulsa! Finally!

The leaves are yellow and red, the air is crisp and The Sooners are playing. (At least I think they are ! That no score game was something else) And with every new season, comes new menus at our favorite Tulsa restaurants.

Amelia’s is one of our go-to favorites! And I was so thrilled to try out their new fall dishes. It was immediately clear that a ton of heart and soul went into every dish.

Rodge and I are always on the hunt for good coffee in Houston and as big as the city is-I am telling you good coffee is hard to come by there! I have no idea why because Dallas and Austin have great coffee but Houston has just stumped us on the coffee scene! Of course you can find flavored fancy lattes and cappuccinos but I am talking about some really nice smooth espresso.

At Parlor’s Handcrafted Ice Creams, they whip up those nostalgic ice cream flavors we all love, from scratch, in-house. They source their grass-fed milk and pasture-raised eggs from local DFW farms.

We always love finding little spots off the beaten path and San Marcos Cafe is worth the short trek from Downtown Santa Fe.

They feature home cooked specialties, New Mexico favorites, and famous Cinnamon Rolls. You can visit their peacocks and roosters and chickens too out back!

The cry of “Viva la Fiesta” has been reverberating through the streets of Old Santa Fe every autumn for 309 years. The sound generates a curious blend of thanksgiving, revelry and pride in the hearts of Santa Feans who celebrate Fiesta annually to commemorate Don Diego De Vargas’ peaceful return to the City of Holy Faith in 1692.
